This full and packed itinerary includes :-

Day One – Fly to Inverness

You will fly direct to Inverness from your local airport. When you arrive at Inverness airport you will be met by your tour manager and transferred to Carrbridge approximately 1 hour away. As you arrive at the hotel you will have time to explore the local area. The famous 1717 packhorse bridge is opposite the hotel.

Day Two – Visit to Brodie Castle and Moray Coast Tour

In the morning you will visit the rose-coloured, turreted Brodie Castle. The ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years and a treasure trove of priceless antiques and artefacts. This guided tour around this building will help you get the most out of your visit. You will also experience the grounds which boast a dazzling display of daffodils.

Later that you you will get the opportunity to see some of the renowned Moray Coast and to explore the fine, historic town of Elgin with it’s warren of alleys and closes and awe-inspiring cathedral ruins.

Day Three – Visit to Inverness and the Black Isle and Dolphin Cruise

You will start the day by visiting Inverness – the thriving capital of the Highlands. Inverness is famous for it’s Victorian market, Museums, art galleries and riverside walks. Then enjoy a short tour of the Black Isle a delightful isthmus full of scenic variety. On route you will also stop at Fortrose and the charming old town of Cromarty with its nautical connections.

Ending the day on board the Delphin Spirit cruise around the inner Moray Firth, you may get chance to see the resident bottlenose dolphins. A specialist guide will be onboard the cruise throughout to give you all the information you will need.

Day Four – Visit to Loch Ness

Starting the day visiting Fort Augustus at the southern tip of the Loch, where a series of locks join it to the caledonian Canal. Here the caledonian Canal heritage centre gives a fascinating insight into the history and operation of the waterway. From here you will head past the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle to Drumnadrochit, where you may like to visit the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre.

Day Five – Strathspey Steam Railway ride and visit Dufftown

Ride the Strathspey Steam railway through the Cairngorm National Park, home to five of Scotland’s six highest mountains, the highlight of the morning. This Vintage train takes 45 minutes and goes through the lovely Spey Valley. Later in the day you will also visit to Dufftown, which promotes itself as the ‘Malt Whisky Capital of the World’. You can either explore the town or join the visit to the Glenfiddich Distillery, for a guided tour and the chance to taste three different single malts (entrance and tour payable locally).

Day Six – Take in the scenery on the ‘Road to the Isles’, from Fort William to Mallaig

Today you will head west, following the evocatively named ‘Road to the Isles’ from Fort William to Mallaig, a route full of history, spectacular scenery and magnificent views. You will stop at the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre, from where you can see the eponymous monument built overlooking Loch Shiel. A short uphill walk from the centre will enable you to see the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct. A the end of the road you will be at the thriving fishing port of Mallaig.

Day Seven – Fly back to your local airport

If you are only flying home in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit the Victorian seaside town of Nairn, with it’s Riverside walks and promenade overlooking the Moray Firth.
