The Majestic Northwest

This 15 day Majestic Northwest holiday will allow you to explore the Northwest of United States of America. Arriving in Seattle to start this adventure.

Days – 1 & 2: Seattle
Welcome to the Emerald City, Seattle. On arrival, transfer independently to your downtown hotel. On day 2, enjoy a full day exploring Seattle where highlights include the Olympic Sculpture Park, Chihuly Garden and heading to the top of the Space Needle. In the evening, perhaps take a dinner cruise along Puget Sound.

Day – 3 : Seattle – Port Townsend (90km/ 56 miles)

Pick up your car and depart Seattle for the Olympic Peninsula, a World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve where you will discover the untouched natural beauty of pristine mountain trails and thundering waterfalls. Spend a day exploring it’s natural sites.

Day – 4 : Port Townsend – Lake Quinault (274km/ 170 miles)

Today further explore the Olympic Peninsula and head for Lake Quinault. Hike to Sol Duc Hot Springs, visit Forks and drive the 30-mile loop around Lake Quinault.

Day = 5 : Lake Quinault – Astoria (193km/ 120 miles)

Travel south on Route 101 towards Oregon and enjoy magnificent views along the way. Tour Astoria, the oldest town west of the Rockies and located on the Columbia River and, for magnificent panoramic views of the area, head for the Astoria Column at 600 feet above sea level.

Day – 6 : Dundee Wine Region (332km/ 206 miles)

Take a drive to the Willamette Valley and the Dundee Wine Region; enjoy tastings, a guided tour or a vineyard walk.

Day – 7 : Astoria – Newport (216km/ 134 miles)

Travel south along the stunning Oregon coast to Newport; be prepared for lots of stops as every turn reveals more scenic lookouts. Be sure to stop at Cannon Beach for lunch and browse its’ many galleries, not forgetting picture postcard Haystack Rock. Further along the coast, stop at Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area in Pacific City for a stroll along the beach.

Day – 8 : Newport – Eugene (160km/ 99miles)

Drive inland to Eugene. Take an architectural walking tour or a pub crawl to discover the city’s many top breweries and outstanding restaurants.

Day – 9 : Eugene – Ashland (290km/ 180 miles)

Leaving Eugene, head south through Grants Pass to Ashland. Take a walk around this theatrical town with its historical district. Ashland is well known for its Shakespearean plays and festivals.

Day – 10 : Ashland – Crater Lake Sunriver (306km/ 190 miles)

Crater Lake is a magnificent deep blue caldera over 2,000 metres above sea level in Klamath County. Take a stroll to the top and, if weather and road conditions permit, take the loop drive around the lake for optimal photo opportunities. Continue on to Sunriver Resort, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Day – 11 : Sunriver – Portland (287km/ 178 miles)

Continue north to the uber cool city of Portland. The highlight on your route today is the beautiful Silver Falls State Park with magnificent walking trails and waterfalls.

Day – 12 : Portland

Located in the shadow of snow-capped Mt Hood, Portland is Oregon’s largest city. Take a stroll through Washington Parks’ Japanese Tea Garden, join a microbrewery bicycle tour and visit Pearl Districts galleries and boutiques. If time permits, take a drive out to the dramatic Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood.

Days – 13 & 14 : Portland Mount Rainier (221km/ 137 miles)

Head back to Washington State towards magnificent Mt. Rainier. Hike on the maintained trails to explore its beautiful landscape and network of glaciers and enjoy the wilderness of this iconic mountain.

Day 15: Mount Rainier Seattle (149km/ 117 miles)

Head back to Seattle via Snoqualmie Falls where your tour concludes.
