Route 66

Have you ever wanted to experience the Real America, away from the theme parks, shopping malls and fast food outlets? Our USA team at Pillinger World Travel can plan a trip for you that transports you along its most famous highway, Route 66. The road that winds its way through the real heart of America, from Chicago right through to Los Angeles, passing through small towns, simple hamlets, and traditional villages along the way.

The route extends for nearly 2,500 miles, and however short or long you would like your journey to be, our experienced staff can help you plan your American adventure. As you progress along this incredible road, you will feel the history, gaze in awe at the impressive scenery, smell the bbq’s from the traditional fire pits, and get a true taste of American freedom.

We can tailor-make your trip to meet your individual requirements, and we can give advice and book your accommodation along the way, just tell us where you’d like to go and let us do the rest. Whatever form of transport you would like to use, from a Harley Davidson, an American RV, or simply just a hire car, let us plan the ‘Drive of Your Life’.

As Route 66 takes in a variety of different places across the US, from Chicago in the North, to the Great Lakes, to Los Angeles in the west and pretty much everything in between, you will experience a wide range of climate zones, altitudes, so you may experience all four seasons in one day.

If we had to do it in one month it would be May. The weather will be mostly pleasant and fair, but it won’t be too hot like the summer months. There will also be less tourists, and no threat of snow.
